Nature to Nurture: Earth Day 2022 with Six Senses
April 22, 2022 by Perrie Hartz
What better say to celebrate Earth Day than to shine a light on Six Senses Hotels Resorts Spas whose incredible brand is built around the three pillars of wellness, crafted experiences, and of course, sustainability. As each year goes by, more and more Six Senses properties are going waste-free and plastic-free, as well as integrating innovative off-grid solar installations and carbon-neutral stays—helping to do their own part in slowing the trajectory of climate change, which grows fundamentally more interconnected and integral to the travel and hospitality sphere with every moment.

Six Senses has always emphasis the importance of becoming self-sustaining, regenerative, and collaborative with NGOs around conservation, community, culture, and commerce. Protecting and regenerating the vital ecosystems at their properties around the world, both on land and underwater, is of utmost importance, but Six Senses also prides itself in making the sustainability experience fun, educational, and for the youngsters, playful; it’s never to early to be the change we want to see in the world!

Six Senses’ children’s program, Grow With Six Senses, incorporates the six dimensions of wellness (social, environmental, physical, spiritual, emotional and intellectual) in each activity, so children have the space to be curious about our natural world and inspire them to protect fragile ecosystem, which will soon be theirs to inherit. Nature-based learning activities include visits to Six Senses organic gardens to learn where your food comes from and give kids the chance and roll up their sleeves and get a little dirty and a lot playful, which is seen at Six Senses Ninh Van Bay’s Climate Warriors program. For children in local communities, Six Senses also partners with Public Health experts to run educational programming in schools.

An important aspect of their environmental efforts is making sure to connect to local communities, so the properties employ and source locally. Six Senses also created a Sustainability Fund to help invest in projects outside of the property, while their Reconnect with Others initiative aims to provide water stations and new ways for guests to experience local communities as partners.
