March 19, 2025 by Hidden Doorways

Greece never fails to captivate, and this coming year brings fresh reasons to visit. From thoughtful hotel renovations to exciting new culinary directions and ways to explore, here’s our insiders look at what’s happening across some of our favorite Greek destinations for 2025. Join us as we explore what’s new in Santorini, Mykonos, Folegandros, Crete, Athens, and Zakynthos.

A New Chapter for Andronis Luxury Suites in Santorini

The hotel that helped put Santorini’s luxury scene on the map is getting a dramatic refresh. Andronis Luxury Suites will unveil its transformation in May, merging with its sister property Alta Mare and raising the bar with completely redesigned rooms and an enhanced spa. There’s exciting news on the food front too – a new taverna named Milto’s Greek Table (after founder Miltiadis Andronis himself) will join the already spectacular Lycabettus Restaurant, making this the only hotel along the Caldera with two distinct dining spots. For those staying in the Pool Villas, there’s even a fun perk – complimentary access to a MINI COOPER Cabrio for a day to zip around the island.

Kalesma Expands its Mykonian Haven

The peaceful Kalesma Mykonos is about to get bigger – but don’t worry, it’s not losing its intimate charm. By June, they’ll add 19 new suites (bringing the total to 44 rooms plus their two villas), a second main pool, and a traditional Greek taverna to round out the dining options. The new rooms keep Kalesma’s clean Cycladic aesthetic but with thoughtful touches – some featuring jetted tubs overlooking the sea. What we love most is how the expansion has been carefully designed to blend seamlessly with the existing property, maintaining that sense of privacy and escape that makes Kalesma special in the first place.

Gundari to Debut Two New Villas Following Its Debut Season

If you haven’t heard of Folegandros yet, you will soon. This lesser-known island offers Greece as it once was – authentic, unhurried, and beautifully untouched. The stunning Gundari resort is adding two showstopping clifftop villas for this season, featuring 3 and 4 bedrooms, private heated infinity pools, and outdoor showers with jaw-dropping Aegean views. What makes these villas special is their thoughtful design that works with the landscape – think handcrafted timber, marble floors, and clever use of the cliff’s natural properties for temperature control. With only 600 year-round residents on the island and minimal tourist development, staying here offers a rare taste of Greek island life wrapped in quiet luxury.

Experience “The Collection” at Daios Cove

Last summer, Crete’s spectacular Daios Cove completed “The Collection” – 29 beautifully redesigned suites that draw inspiration from the island’s natural beauty. These renovated spaces bring the outside in, using natural materials and open layouts to create rooms that feel both sophisticated and deeply relaxing. Cut into a hillside overlooking a private bay, Daios Cove somehow manages to feel both grand and intimate at the same time – its terraced gardens and golden beach creating a secluded retreat within a world-class resort.

Grecotel’s ‘Twin Center Athens’ Experience

In the Attica region, Grecotel offers a unique “Twin Center Athens” experience, seamlessly combining city and seaside luxury across its three emblematic properties. Discover the iconic, award-winning hôtel-maison THE DOLLI in the historical center of Athens with its striking Acropolis views, the exquisitely renovated Cape Sounio facing the Temple of Poseidon and the Aegean Sea, and THE ROC CLUB, a brand-new boutique resort in Vouliagmeni at the heart of Athens Riviera.

Guests can create their perfect Athens experience by combining stays at these distinctive properties with curated experiences tailored to each pairing: A stay at both THE DOLLI and Cape Sounio could include guided tours of the Parthenon and Acropolis Museum combined with sea kayaking beneath the Temple of Poseidon – a holistic blend of history, nature, and adventure. For those choosing THE DOLLI and THE ROC CLUB, bespoke cultural and art tours in Athens’ center complement luxury shopping by the sea at the posh Astir Marina. The complete experience across all three properties – THE DOLLI, Cape Sounio, and THE ROC CLUB – includes unforgettable dining with breathtaking views at each stage.

A Fresh Culinary Direction at Lesante Collection

The Lesante Collection properties on Zakynthos are elevating their dining experience with the appointment of celebrated chef Nikos Ispiroudis as Culinary Director. Known for blending traditional Ionian cooking with modern techniques, he’s bringing a fresh perspective to everything from fine dining at Fiore to open-fire cooking at farm-to-table Bostani. What we’re most excited about is how he’s putting the focus on local ingredients – island olive oils, herbs straight from the garden, just-caught seafood, and Zakynthian specialties rarely seen outside family kitchens. Beyond just great meals, guests can now join cooking classes, wine tastings, and vineyard picnics that tell the story of the island through its food.

Island Hopping Gets an Upgrade with Elements Yachting

New to our collection this year is Elements Yachting, who are changing how we think about exploring the islands of Greece. Forget rigid ferry schedules – their fleet of high-performance speedboats lets guests island-hop at their own pace. Operating from Paros and – new for 2025 – Athens, they’ve perfected the art of turning a day on the water into an immersive experience that seamlessly combines aquatic adventure with on-land discoveries. You might find yourself shaping pottery in Sifnos, diving into hidden sea caves off Antiparos, or enjoying a private wine tasting as the sun sets over Santorini’s caldera. From the new Athens base, guests now explore the sophisticated Athenian Riviera and quieter Saronic islands like car-free Hydra and elegant Spetses. Whether it’s a celebratory group gathering, a romantic afternoon for two, or transforming what would be a routine hotel transfer into a memorable journey, Elements Yachting turns transportation into one of the highlights of any Greek vacation.
