Seeking Open Spaces? Brush Creek Ranch is Calling

April 3, 2020 by Allison Reiber DiLiegro

While cooped up at home, you might find yourself dreaming of fresh air, sweeping landscapes, active adventures and farm-fresh cuisine. If that fantasy is calling your name, we would like to introduce Brush Creek Luxury Ranch Collection.

For many of you, Brush Creek Ranch needs no introduction. The all-inclusive luxury dude ranch was named the No. 2 Top Hotel in the World and the No. 1 Resort Hotel in the Continental U.S. in Travel + Leisure’s 2019 World’s Best Awards, to name a few of its many accolades.

Set on 30,000 acres of working cattle ranch in Wyoming’s Sierra Nevada mountains, Brush Creek Luxury Ranch Collection offers an authentic ranch experience with a flare for luxury. Surrounded by the grandeur of the Great American West, a stay here offers a pause from modern life – especially nowadays – where you can reconnect with the land and experience activities with childlike joy. Here’s why we’re dreaming of Brush Creek Ranch now more than ever.

The Epic Activities

Take one look at the activity list and you’ll be tempted to book another night. Days will be easy to fill – there are more than 40 activities that range from kid-friendly to expert. Fishermen and -women are in for a treat. The North Platte River watershed – one of the most famous fly-fishing destinations in the world – is right outside. In fact, Brush Creek Ranch owns more than 10 miles of these waters. Once the river freezes over, there’s also ice fishing from inside comfortable shelters.

Horseback riding is another iconic ranch experience. There are trail rides that last from one to three hours or cattle driving with the wranglers. Looking for more speed? There’s barrel racing, an essential rodeo event, and pole bending. Guests can also fill their days with hiking, mountain biking, shooting sports, golf, yoga, archery, rock climbing and so much more.

The Lil’ Wranglers program offers a wide variety of fun activities tailored for children, ages 4 to 9 years old, that allows them to have the full range of ranch experiences.

After a day of action, there’s no better place to be than the spa. Unwind with a pampering massage, a steam or a salon treatment.

An Exclusive-Use Mountain

Come winter, guests have exclusive access to a private winter wonderland for only 12 guests at a time. Green Mountain is a secluded 600-acre mountain surrounded by national forest that offers skiing and snowboarding to all levels of expertise. Guests can also try out snowshoeing and cross-country skiing within miles of pristine wilderness. The season typically runs well into March.

Aside from spectacular views and lush wilderness, exclusivity is the draw. There’s a maximum of a dozen skiers or snowboarders on the mountain at any time. There’s no ski lift – snowcats and snowmobiles are there to bring guests to the top. From there, guests have their run of more than 1,000 vertical feet of runs that stretch for a mile. Not one for skiing? There’s also tubing, a family favorite open to guests of all ages.

Wagyu Beef & Farm-Fresh Cuisine

Brush Creek Luxury Ranch Collection has long been a culinary destination, and it keeps getting better. The Ranch first started raising 100% American Wagyu cattle in 2017. These prized cattle were traditionally only raised in Japan. Now, it’s one of three locations in the world with a license to raise these cattle. As such, all beef served at the Ranch is Wagyu beef.

Just last year, the Ranch opened The Farm at Brush Creek, a range of epicurean experiences that showcase the property’s seed-to-table ethos. The Farm is a 40,000-square-foot complex with a brewery, distillery, creamery, cellar, bakery and more. The expansive organic greenhouse produces enough fruit, vegetables and herbs to supply the entire property. Guests looking to get their hands dirty can arrange farming experiences in the greenhouse, cheesemaking classes in the creamery, brewing lessons from the brew master and more. Open houses are on offer, too, for guests curious to take a peek.

By night, guests can choose to dine at Cheyenne Club, a world-class restaurant helmed by Chef Angus McIntosh. Chef McIntosh, whose illustrious background includes the French Laundry in Yountville, California, specializes in seasonal dishes made from the property’s own greenhouse-grown vegetables and, naturally, Wagyu beef. For guests eager to learn from the master, Chef McIntosh offers pasta making, butchery and grilling classes.

Cozy Rooms, Suites & Cabins

The 30,000-acre ranch is home to three luxury properties designed to suit different sorts of travelers. There’s the Lodge & Spa, the adults-only Magee Homestead and French Creek, a collection of secluded cabins on premier fishing and hunting grounds.

The Lodge & Spa is the family-friendly “luxury dude ranch,” inspired by traditional homestead architecture. The 33 units include 11 two- and three-bedroom log cabins, 13 rooms in the Trailhead Lodge and nine cabin suites. While each space is unique, all are cozy and comfortable with an impeccable sense of place and plush amenities.

The Magee Homestead is the adults-only choice, with just 12 bedrooms inside nine historically restored cabins. Certain cabins can be taken over by larger groups for a residential experience. Many of the rooms come with their own fireplace or deck overlooking the creek. The Magee Homestead also has its own spa, which offers personalized massages, body wraps, facials and more.

Finally, there’s French Creek. Set on the Sanger Ranch, this exclusive property offers access to some of the country’s best hunting and fly-fishing grounds. With four luxury log cabins, only 12 guests have access at any time. The Clubhouse features a dining room, a great room, billiards, a fire-pit and more.
