Kokomo Private Island Fiji

Overview

An untouched Fijian gem set in the pristine Kadavu Islands in the South Pacific, Kokomo is a 140-acre tropical haven of world-class comfort, lush green topography, and turquoise waters. Each resident stays not in a room, but a secluded beachfront pool villa, all 21 of which are elegantly furnished with both traditional Fijian and contemporary décor. For larger groups, there are its five capacious hilltop residences that are serviced by a private butler and nanny to ensure you feel completely cared for. To enrich your stay further is the exceptional Yaukuve Spa Sanctuary set in a lush garden oasis with five treatment rooms, a wet and dry hammam, outdoor relaxation pavilion, and a hair salon. Seclusion aside, what Kokomo is equally as steeped in are sustainable practices. Its blend of Mediterranean favorites and Fijian classics are honored in its dishes with ingredients sourced from the island’s own 5.5-acre farm that are served across its restaurants, from the Asian street food Walker D’Plank tucked within a sheltered cove to its seriously chic beach shack. Guests can also make a positive impact by participating in its many ecological programs, learning how to transplant coral in the surrounding reef, and planting and restoring mangroves. But one of the true draws of Kokomo is its myriad choices of local experiences whether diving in the famed Great Astrolabe Reef or chartering a boat to take in the surrounding islands and their breathtaking waterfalls. Ultimately, to be a guest of Kokomo is to find yourself in paradise.

Accommodations

Kokomo offers 21 secluded beachfront open-plan pool villas (ranging from 1,259 sq. ft.-2,250 sq. ft.). These villas are perched either on the sunrise or sunset side of the island-promising stunning views, and memorable moments regardless of the time of day. While the sunset side is more popular, the sunrise side offers more privacy and is perfect for honeymoon couples or snorkeling enthusiasts.

Inspired by this exotic topography, renowned interior designer Philip Garner, along with lead architect Keith Lambert and owner Lang Walker AO, created a secluded oasis that perfectly melds with its natural surroundings, from the grays of the elegant stonework to the coconut fiber roof beams and stunning magimagi artwork. The villas are elegantly furnished with both traditional Fijian and contemporary-chic décor and an expansive collection of artworks by Australian painter and artist-in-residence Chris Kenyon. Each feature a private infinity pool, deck, and tropical garden, along with stunning ocean views and direct beach access.

There are five expansive hilltop residences, 3,272 sq. ft.-11,916 sq. ft. for those seeking more privacy or space for multi-gen gatherings. Their residences include the three-bedroom Namara (3,272 sq. ft.), four-bedroom Dravuni (6,135 sq. ft.), four-bedroom Ocean (6,835 sq. ft.), five-bedroom Astrolabe (7,083 sq. ft.) and six-bedroom Sunset (11,916 sq. ft.).
