Kokomo Private Island Fiji

Discover Kokomo Private Island Fiji-an untouched Fijian gem set in the pristine Kadavu Islands in the South Pacific. While there are more than 300 islands to discover in Fiji’s archipelago, Kokomo is one of the most impressive private island resorts in Fiji, surrounded by the astounding crystalline waters of the Great Astrolabe Reef, and accessible only by helicopter or seaplane. Opened in March 2017, Kokomo Private Island Fiji was founded by Lang Walker AO, an Australian property tycoon. A true passion project, Walker transformed the 140-acre island into a true tropical haven of world-class comfort and style to immerse guests in the natural beauty of the island’s lush green topography and turquoise waters. His deep-rooted love for the land, its natural surroundings, and Fijian culture itself, is intrinsically infused in every aspect of the resort’s ambiance.

Celebrating unscripted moments, Kokomo ignites your sense for discovery and welcomes you to your Fijian home. Each of Kokomo's 21 secluded beachfront pool villas is set either on the sunrise or sunset side of the island, promising stunning views, and memorable moments regardless of the time of day. Designed by Lang Walker’s top Australian interior designers, the villas are elegantly furnished with both traditional Fijian and contemporary-chic décor and an expansive collection of artworks by Chris Kenyon. There are five expansive hilltop residences, the four bedroom Dravuni is most popular, for those seeking more privacy or space for multi-gen gatherings.

Traditional Fijian culture and sustainability are reflected in the resort’s restaurants and cuisine, which is sourced directly from the island’s own impressive 5.5-acre farm. Savor flavorful Mediterranean favorites at the newly reimagined beachfront Beach Shack offering unparalleled views from its open-air deck or sip a tropical cocktail made from local botanical ingredients at the new Sunken Cocktail Bar. Walker D’Plank is an authentic and casual-chic eatery with cuisine that melds Asian street food with traditional Fijian recipes romantically tucked away on a sheltered cove. With no set menu, the talented Chef Caroline specifically caters all dishes daily based on the best produce available and champions locally caught sustainable seafood and seasonal vegetables harvested from the farm. At Kokocabana, guests dine water-side next to the resort’s main pool on dishes like wood-fired pizza, succulent burgers and refreshing gelato. For special group or family occasions, guests may choose to reserve the resort’s new exclusive wine cellar and private dining room. Kokomo's chefs can curate a private dinner or picnic set in a unique location around the island or surrounding uninhabited islands. Offering incredible panoramic views of the island, an intimate dinner on West Beach is a guest favorite, which is also ideal for special group gatherings.

The true draw of Kokomo is its myriad choices of local experiences and activities. Diving here is truly unparalleled; with a perfect location on the famed Great Astrolabe Reef, the surrounding waters are a haven for scuba and snorkel enthusiasts. Depending on the time of year, there are manta rays, turtles, humpback wales, sharks, dolphins, and more. Other water activities include fishing (the surrounding reef offers abundant and unrivaled world-class fishing opportunities), surfing, sailing, paddle boarding, and kayaking. Kokomo also offers private boat charters of the surrounding waters and islands, waterfall excursions, and on-land activities like cultural village tours, yoga, tennis, basketball, a guided farm tour, and a dedicated kids and teens club.

Reawaken your senses and rediscover your serenity at their exceptional Yaukuve Spa Sanctuary- a true paradise of peace and relaxation. Set in a lush garden oasis and designed to connect one to the natural beauty of the island and to the true spirit of Fiji, the Yaukuve Spa Sanctuary features five treatment rooms, a wet and dry hammam, outdoor relaxation pavilion, and a hair salon. Treatments include rejuvenating facials, Pacific Mastery massages, restorative hair care treatments, yoga, meditation, and more. For a more curated experience, guests can choose to book treatments or holistic practices in the privacy of their own luxury villa or residence.

Committed to regeneration, Kokomo embraces multiple sustainable strategies that promise long term success on the island they call home. Guests can make a positive impact during their day by participating in the island’s ecological programs, learning how to transplant coral in the surrounding reef, planting and restoring mangroves, supporting the island’s sustainable fishing initiative “Dock to Fish”, and visiting the island’s farm to name a few. At the end of their stay, guests are bid adieu with a traditional Fijian farewell song, sung in unison by the staff. This beautiful intimate moment of Fijian hospitality encapsulates the incomparable Kokomo experience and deep connection with their team who becomes your family-you long to return when you arrive back home.

Kokomo offers 21 secluded beachfront open-plan pool villas (ranging from 1,259 sq. ft.-2,250 sq. ft.). These villas are perched either on the sunrise or sunset side of the island-promising stunning views, and memorable moments regardless of the time of day. While the sunset side is more popular, the sunrise side offers more privacy and is perfect for honeymoon couples or snorkeling enthusiasts.

Inspired by this exotic topography, renowned interior designer Philip Garner, along with lead architect Keith Lambert and owner Lang Walker AO, created a secluded oasis that perfectly melds with its natural surroundings, from the grays of the elegant stonework to the coconut fiber roof beams and stunning magimagi artwork. The villas are elegantly furnished with both traditional Fijian and contemporary-chic décor and an expansive collection of artworks by Australian painter and artist-in-residence Chris Kenyon. Each feature a private infinity pool, deck, and tropical garden, along with stunning ocean views and direct beach access.

There are five expansive hilltop residences, 3,272 sq. ft.-11,916 sq. ft. for those seeking more privacy or space for multi-gen gatherings. Their residences include the three-bedroom Namara (3,272 sq. ft.), four-bedroom Dravuni (6,135 sq. ft.), four-bedroom Ocean (6,835 sq. ft.), five-bedroom Astrolabe (7,083 sq. ft.) and six-bedroom Sunset (11,916 sq. ft.).
