Ilha do Japão is a Brazilian tropical hideaway set in archipelago of 365 islands off the Green Coast of Angra dos Reis, just 104 miles west of Rio de Janeiro. Tucked away on an exotic private island, it offers a world onto its own yet accessible from Brazil's mainland. Ilha do Japão offers earthy accommodations accented with stone walls, wood detailing and vibrant woven textiles for up to 10 guests which consists of a Main House and three sea-facing Bungalows. Guests have room to roam on the island and explore the surrounding area with unique experiences such as cruising along the crystalline sea to neighboring islands aboard their 36 ft speed boat for up to 11 people equipped with a full-time captain. Other water activities include paddle boarding, sea kayaking, wake boarding and tubing. Days are easily spent relaxing on the shores of its private beach or back at the hotel’s sundeck by its glittering swimming pool or taking in the breathtaking sea views in the jacuzzi. There is also a serene solarium deck, a gazebo and a multi-level fishpond. In the evenings, enjoy romantic sunsets and mystical views of surrounding mountains before heading to al fresco dinner on their large outdoor BBQ terrace. For those easy access to Rio de Janeiro, there is a helipad available.
