The Leela Palace New Delhi showcases some of the most regal designs to ever adorn a modern palace by eminent artists from around the world. Each piece of art, display, or carving, exemplifies the ultra-luxurious elegance of the hotel. An aesthetic juxtaposition of traditional and contemporary art, the hotel features the work of artists including Satish Gujral, Paresh Maity, Sanjay Bhattacharya, Satish Gupta, and Laxman Goud, which accentuates the grace and grandeur of The Leela Palace New Delhi.

Innovative and opulent, traditional and contemporary, the artwork varies from corridor to wall, restaurant to guest room and spa to lobby. Jamavar, the signature Indian restaurant at The Leela Palace New Delhi, imbues the very essence of Indian royalty with a gold leaf, handcrafted, centuryold traditional design. The restaurant’s design is native to Jaipur and has been instrumental in giving a boost to the local artisan community. Both the intriguing elephant motifs on the wall and royal murals add a regal ambience and charm. The elegant Library, the quintessential Gentlemen’s Club and Bar, has over 1,000 antique books on world history and Indian history, collected from different parts of the world.

The Leela Palace New Delhi has helped in the revival of miniature painting as an art form by master craftsmen from Rajasthan, as well as of Bidri work from Uttar Pradesh, another art form that had, until recently, been slowly dying out. These incredible paintings can be viewed along all guest room corridors. Also adorning the walls of the central courtyard are two golden mosaics with 1,500 tiles on each panel that unveil the blossoming of 1,000 lotus buds into flowers.

All guest rooms and suites at The Leela Palace New Delhi feature limited edition and numbered lithographs, all embedded with gold leaf and semi-precious stones by the renowned Photographer Rohan Shreshta, which depicting Indian kings and queens in their traditional, regal attire. The Spa at The Leela Palace New Delhi also showcases exceptional marble carvings of an intricate hand-carved marble mesh.

Through the culturally diverse array of artwork, The Leela Palace New Delhi strives to help revive the rich cultural heritage of India by encouraging talented craftsmen from various parts of the country. Through its design and decor, this modern palace is a true reflection of the city’s multifaceted and rich heritage.
