Slide into Ski Season in Les Trois Vallées, France

There are two options when the weather gets cold: we can escape it or embrace it. If your choice is to embrace it – and that’s the fun approach – there’s no better way than a ski vacation. Charm abounds in Les Trois Vallées, the largest ski resort in the world. We are proud to represent two properties in the French Alps, Le Coucou Méribel and Six Senses Residences Courchevel. Each is unique but both are unforgettable. Read on to choose which is right for you.

Le Coucou Méribel

From the outside, Le Coucou Méribel blends into the mountain landscape. From the inside, it stands out above the rest. Set to open in December 2019, Le Coucou Méribel, the newest member of French hospitality group Maisons Pariente, delivers singular style, ski-in/ski-out ease and warm, welcoming spaces for soaking up views.

The 55 rooms and suites are the work of Pierre Yovanovitch, the French designer behind private residences known to grace the pages of Architectural Digest. His interiors feature a unique take on alpine charm with wood-paneled walls, rosy hues, cozy textiles and quirky lines that blend modern with retro. There are two private chalets with four bedrooms, a full-service kitchen, private spa and a cathedral living room with a blazing fireplace and panoramic views of the snow-capped peaks.

While the fire is delightful, you came to Méribel to ski (unless you came to spa and après-ski). Le Coucou Méribel is at the center of Les Trois Vallées, which affords easy access to 600 kilometers of pistes. There is guaranteed snow during the season, with more than 85% of the ski area above 1,800 meters and artificial snow to pick up the slack.

When it’s time to warm up, the Tata Harper spa beckons. There are six treatment rooms, a hammam, a sauna and indoor and outdoor pools (both heated, of course). Those traveling with kids in tow can drop them off at the kids’ clubs, one designed for toddlers and the other for teens.

To celebrate the opening, Le Coucou Méribel is offering a complimentary room upgrade from December 13 to 20, January 11 to February 8, and February 29 to March 21. Or, book a three-night stay during December 13 to 20 or January 11 to February 8 and you’ll receive the third night free (as if you needed an excuse to stay longer).

Six Senses Residences Courchevel

A valley away is Six Senses Residences Courchevel, set in the heart of Courchevel 1850, the highest resort in the region. Courchevel 1850 is famous for more than its elevation – it’s one of the most star-studded resorts in the Alps, known for glitz, glamour and Michelin-starred luxury.

Amidst the glitz, Six Senses Residences Courchevel offers a refined sort of luxury. The exterior recalls a classic French chalet. The interiors are clean and contemporary, with neutral colors and warm woods. Alpine-inspired details bring a cozy sense of place throughout.

With 28 apartments that range from two to four bedrooms, Six Senses Residences Courchevel is an ideal destination for families and groups of friends. Each apartment is decorated in earthy tones, polished stone, chestnut leathers and natural woods. All come with a fully-equipped kitchen and at least one balcony.

The Six Senses Ski Concierge is available in the private ski lodge to get guests ready to hit the slopes. Guests can ski in Courchevel – some of the best snow in the region – or take the lifts to explore all that Les Trois Vallées has to offer.

As this is Six Senses, after all, the spa is a destination all its own. Treatments include the Arnica and Ginger Hot Oil Massage, designed especially for the property, as well as deep tissue massages, body scrubs and the Intensely Hydrating Non-Surgical Facelift. There’s an expansive indoor swimming pool, an outdoor hot tub and a fitness center with wellness classes.

Starting this December, the dining is destination-worthy as well. Six Senses is collaborating with Sumosan, the Japanese restaurant group, to bring signature sushi and innovative Japanese fusion to Courchevel. Expect inventive dishes like black caviar rice pizza and sushi torched table-side. The bar is an ideal destination for après-ski, serving cocktails and sushi.
