TIME+ TIDE Miavana

Madagascar celebrates the rare and undiscovered: home to obscure wildlife creatures and endangered species, such as lemurs and chameleons, otherworldly landscapes and a mosaic of unexplored coves in the sparkling Indian Ocean. A fascinating yet perplexing place, 85 percent of its biodiversity is found nowhere else on earth. Fringed by white sand beaches and sprawling coral reefs, Time + Tide Miavana is a haven of luxury at the ends of the Earth set on a remote island of Nosy Ankao, the largest of the five islands in the archipelago off the coast of Madagascar. Accessible only by helicopter, guests arrive in style for a scenic 30-minute helicopter ride from Diego Suarez airport to the resort taking-in the diverse topography. Relax into the barefoot ease of Nosy Ankao, where life is measured in the rise and fall of the tides. Designed by the masterminds behind the Seychelles’ beloved North Island, 14 open-air villas are dotted along a pristine pearly-sand beach. Each embodies the natural elements of sea, sand and air and meet elegantly through inspired interiors and textures that celebrate the extraordinary island setting. Don’t miss guided nature walks to see exquisite birds, crowned lemurs, chameleons or explore the extraordinary marine life by scuba diving to neighboring islands to see manta rays, sea turtles, bumphead parrot fish, and spinner dolphins. Intrepid travelers can take a helicopter to see the Golden Crowned Sifakas, Amber Mountain or Ankarana National Park where guests will see unique geological formations like Madagascar's tsigny, caves and more. Here there are two distinct seasons. From November to mid-May, the days are warm, with light rains mainly overnight, making it best for diving, fishing, snorkeling and sea turtles. Mid-May to October has cooler days with seasonal winds, making it perfect for intrepid guests who want to see whales, terns, or go kite/windsurfing. Learn about the island’s treasures at the Cabinet of Curiosities. After a day of exploring, find serenity at the main infinity pool or indulge in in-villa spa treatments. Exquisite sunsets set the scene for memorable dinners where its culinary team creates exquisite meals that bring together the finest local ingredients with world-class skill. Time + Tide Miavana is a special place like no other allowing guests to live out their Charles Darwin dreams while protecting Nosy Ankao and the archipelago’s environment for future explorers.

Dotted along the pristine beach, Time + Tide Miavana's 14 open-air villas are a masterpiece in luxury each boasting ocean views and direct beach access.
