Introducing Pereh in Israel’s Golan Heights
December 13, 2022 by Perrie Hartz
Located on a private estate in Northern Israel’s Golan Heights, the newly-opened Pereh Mountain Resort is a stunning property perched on a hilltop overlooking vast mountains and valleys. Surrounded by lush gardens and freshly-scented orchards, this 27-room boutique hotel incorporates vast spaces, beautiful landscapes, a pristine environment, and local cuisine to encapsulate the very best of Israel’s Galilee and Golan Heights region.
Pereh Mountain Resort greets guests with a warm ambiance in a non-fussy yet luxurious setting that feels immediately welcoming. The spacious and intimate location is perfect for guests seeking a relaxing escape of quietude and tranquillity. The estate offers sprawling scenic terraces, lush gardens, an infinity pool with a jacuzzi and bar, spa, a fine-dining restaurant, wine cellar, lobby bar, gym, and event spaces.
All of the indoor spaces throughout the property were created and manifested by renowned interior designers Dannah Leitersdorf and Tamara Glaser, who used mostly local natural resources in the buildings and furnishings, such as native basalt stone and natural mineral plaster. The spacious rooms and suites have all been restored to look like the original structures, with centuries-old wooden floors, rounded stone walls and high ceilings.
Built on the ruins of the 1919 Upper Customs House, the historic property now has 27 unique rooms and suites spread out among four buildings. The original facade is now home to the Bauhaus Superior rooms, all with authentic wooden floors still intact from over 150 years ago. The contemporary furnishings add a layer of luxurious comfort and texture to the already-inviting vibe.
Some rooms have an intimate garden terrace while others offer large roof decks with incredible views over the rolling hills and valleys.
The Pereh loft suite is a refined space with a living room, spacious bathroom, and private rooftop terrace with an outdoor bath. Inside the Garden and Nature Building are the Garden Deluxe rooms which offer breathtaking view of the Galilee mountains and Hula Valley. The elegant Poolview Deluxe rooms give guests direct access to the glorious infinity pool and jacuzzi. All rooms are equipped with a terrace, organic toiletries from L’Occitane and Provence, and Bluetooth speakers.
Rouge, Pereh Mountain Resort’s signature restaurant, showcases the abundance and immense diversity of the Golan Heights culinary scene and local cuisine, using both contemporary and traditional techniques to offer patrons an authentic local dining experience. The restaurant is led by talented chef Roee Dori who serves a rotating menu of fresh seasonal ingredients and dishes.
The property also boasts an impressive wine cellar that champions the best of local wines from the Galilee and Golan Heights Region, including an in-house wine label bottled exclusively for the property. Additionally, wine tastings are hosted by the house Sommelier and Mixologist, where guests can enjoy wine sampling and artisanal cheeses.
Pereh Mountain Resort is also home to a luxurious and intimate spa that offers signature treatments and uses regional materials to create remedies, ointments, essential oils, therapeutic teas, soaps, and soaking blends. Guests can also enjoy a sauna and dry steam room, along with a la carte spa services and a superb reflexology treatment to help relieve stress.
Pereh Mountain Resort’s stunning location quenches any nature lover’s thirst with a variety of outdoor adventures and activities, including hiking trails and sports. Oenophiles can also enjoy the fresh air while taking a relaxing stroll through the rolling Golan vineyards with 20 wineries nearby. Within close proximity to the property, history lovers can tour ancient cities and visit a captivating archaeological evacuation site. The Golan Heights region offers a wide range of unique experiences, from extreme sports to ATV nature tours to stunning reserves, streams, pools, and lakes.
With eight square kilometers of glorious nature to enjoy, Pereh Mountain Resort offers a unique abundance of spectacular rooms, wide open spaces, perfectly-manicured gardens, delicious cuisine, exciting activities, and breathtaking views of one of Israel’s most spectacular regions.
