A true gem of the Mediterranean and arguably the most famous of the Balearic Islands, Ibiza is a cultural haven pulsing with energy and excitement. While it is known for the lively nightlife in Ibiza Town and Sant Antoni, Ibiza is also home to quiet picturesque villages, pine-laden hills, spiritual yoga retreats and secluded sandy coves. Six Senses Ibiza, set to open on July 10, 2021, reflects Six Senses’ aesthetic and ethos perfectly while also providing guests with groundbreaking new experiences and accommodations in a spectacular setting. For their new property, Six Senses harnesses the lively, free-spirited and celebratory nature of the island while embracing local culture and customs, creating a sanctuary of peace and tranquility that also celebrates the love of community, spirituality, music, and culinary and artistic exploration that Ibiza is known for.

Tucked away on the northern tip of Ibiza’s glistening Xarraca Bay, the new Six Senses Ibiza is a chic, minimalist architectural triumph set on 20-acres of beautifully secluded and spacious land. The property boasts stunning panoramic sunset views from a sleek infinity pool, beach caves with an in-house recording studio and live music venue, a sustainable retail concept, Agora, using crafts from local artisans, scenic restaurants, paddle boarding and private boat charters in the crystalline bay, a 400-year-old olive press and historic agricultural estate, and, of course, a new Six Senses Spa and Wellness Center. Remote enough to imbue a sense of peace and calm and promote relaxation, yet easily accessible and conveniently located on one of Spain’s most lively island paradises, Six Senses Ibiza truly is the perfect sun-soaked escape you’ve been dreaming of.

With sustainability and eco-tourism currently at the forefront of the conversation in the travel and hospitality industry and beyond, Six Senses is extremely proud to call their Ibiza property the first sustainable BREEAM certified resort and residential community in the Balearics. Connecting guests with the soil, Six Senses Ibiza offers Earth Labs with immersive activities rooted in sustainability and interactive farm activities for the resort’s youngest guests with their Grow with Six Senses programming. The abundant flora and fauna of Ibiza’s unique topography reflect a biodiversity that needs to be protected and preserved. Thus, the property will strive to develop new eco-initiatives and procedures minimize the ecological impact of the resort and, most importantly, to also act as a regenerative force for the benefit of the native environment. Six Senses will also be partnering with the Ibiza Preservation Fund, which works to preserve Ibiza’s and Formentera’s natural environment, and will be setting aside a percentage of the resort’s operating revenue and 50 percent of all water sales towards the Six Senses Sustainability Fund.

Yet another incredible sustainable feature of Six Senses Ibiza is the exceptional array of culinary experiences available for guests. The resort takes pride in using locally grown and harvested organic produce from The Farm, the property’s historic olive press and agricultural estate that dates back 400 years, and invites diners to take part in not just planting their own food, but harvesting and cooking it as well for a truly unique and immersive cuisine experience.

Six Senses Ibiza is also home to four organic restaurants, a juice bar, and café, and is the first European outpost for famed celebrity chef Eyal Shani, who is considered to be the founding father of new Israeli cuisine. Chef Shani will be offering organic wellness dishes with a focus on seasonal fare and fresh vegetables with a local flavor that guests can enjoy in the Orange Orchard, Mediterranean Piazza, the Green Bar, or the Live Cave, where delicious tapas and local music commingle perfectly in a lively, social atmosphere.

From tailored treatments provided by world-renown teachers and expert yogic masters to functional fitness and multi-day Immersive Retreats, the Spa at Six Senses Ibiza has an exceptional wellness experience for every type of guest just waiting to be enjoyed. The impressive spa facility itself is over 1,200 square meters and includes a beauty lounge, steam room, hammam and holistic anti-aging program with nutrition guidance and modern healing methods, along with a fitness area, café and juice bar. Outdoors, there are massage catacombs and organic gardens, where ingredients for the spa botanicals and Alchemy Bar are grown.
